To bring more people under the ambit of the Act, the Public Health Department of Government Maharashtra has issued a Notification (ESIS.2015/C.R.150/RAKAVI-2), dated 22nd July 2019, to notify that this draft Notification is proposed to be issued under the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948, which will be taken into consideration by the Government of Maharashtra on or after 23rd August 2019. According to the Circular, the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948 will now be applicable on establishment having ten (10) or more persons employed on any day of the preceding 12 months (currently the threshold for coverage of the Act on the establishment is 20)
